What are the scenarios

What are the scenarios

The scenario is a proposal, a thematic and operational suggestion on which the teachers can organize a workshop with the class or with groups of students.

The scenarios proposed here are calibrated by school order or cognitive level and are divided into:

  • Minor: scenarios dedicated to kindergarten and primary school biennium students (age 4-7)
  • Maior : scenarios dedicated to the three-year primary school students (8-10 years)
  • Medie: scenarios dedicated to lower secondary school students (11-13 years)
  • Junior: scenarios dedicated to the biennium of the secondary school students (14-15 years)
  • Senior : scenarios dedicated to the three-year secondary school degree students (16-18 years)

Structure of a scenario

A typical scenario configuration for creating a storylet:

  • Target
  • Thematic scenarios
  • Educational goals
  • Starting ideas
  • Operative mode
  • Disciplines involved/areas of interest
  • Tools

Target

The scenarios are addressed, for educational reasons, to homogeneous groups by level of school and grade of cognitive development; for this reason they are grouped together: kindergarten students to those of the primary school biennium (students 4-7 years); three-year primary school students (students 8-10); secondary school students (students 11-13); students of the secondary school degree biennium (14-16 years); students of the three-year secondary school degree (students 16-18).

Thematic scenario

The proposed themes allow you to work in an interdisciplinary way, even among teachers of different disciplines. The activities are related to the students’ school level. The principle is to start from a theme, to develop it by gradually using the knowledge of the individual disciplines in a dynamic way and making the appropriate connections.

As an example, some of the proposed themes:

  • Bullying/cyberbullying
  • Interculture and shelter
  • Environment and sustainable development
  • Foreign languages
  • Relationship, affectivity, gender cultures
  • Citizenship / living in Europe
  • Disability and inclusion
  • Artistic languages
  • Science, technology and communication
  • Digital citizenship and digital divide.

Educational goals

Some general and interdisciplinary objectives are proposed, with which to stimulate the development of skills in organizational, relational, work, research, collaboration and sharing.

Starting ideas

The teacher provides only one slide to the class and indicates the topic to be addressed. The slide can represent the beginning / end / an intermediate step of the story to be created and must be included by everyone in the stories.

Operative mode

Individual work or in pairs to create different stories that will then be used, in their significant parts, to build a collective narrative. The workshop concludes by creating a synthesis of the stories realized in a group that welcomes a contribution from each; there is a projection / slideshow of the history on the IWB; you share the story with other classes / schools, Italian or foreign, using a protected internal platform or a class account on social networks.

Disciplines involved / areas of interest

All the disciplines calibrated according to the students’ cognitive and scholastic level. The principle is to start from a theme and develop it gradually using the knowledge of the individual disciplines in a dynamic way and making the appropriate connections.

Tools

Indications on which devices / tools and which technological equipment can be ideal or functional for the best realization of the activities.
